Come and join our astronomer "The Starsmith" for an evening of spotting shooting stars in the inky sky above the Station Inn.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park has been designated a "Dark Sky Reserve" by the International Dark Sky Association and on a clear night as well as 1000's of stars & some distant planets, the Milky Way is often clearly visible.

There will be a presentation next to the roaring fire in the Victorian range during which you will be served with a lovely bowl of warming soup and crusty roll to ensure you are nice and warm before heading outside to see what the night sky has to offer. You will use large aperture telescopes to see Mars; Jupiter & Saturn as well as galaxies and nebulae. We also hope you will get to see a beautful half-moon rising on the Eastern horizon towards the end of the evening.

However as its winter do make sure you bring woolly hats and blankets! And importantly also bring a torch!!
